Yantai, Shandong Province, China – Changyu Cultural Park is located in the fertile coastal land of Yantai at the Changyu Pioneer Wine Co. Ltc., established as China’s oldest winery in 1892. The winery has developed and evolved over one hundred and twenty years into being one of the largest wine companies in the world. Today, Changyu is building a Wine City in Yantai which will celebrate wine-making as well as the advances in science and technology surrounding the wine industry in an integrated world class destination resort.
Wyatt Design Group was responsible for two major areas of this massive destination: 1) the Fine Wine Entertainment Village, and 2) the Wine Institute Research Center.
For the Entertainment Village WDG re-created an authentic French hamlet from the Loire Region featuring themed rides, in indoor performance theater, and outdoor stunt show. Within the hamlet are several cafes, bakeries and coffee shops, retail outlets, fountains and gardens. WDG’s scope was concept design through schematic design of attractions, architecture, interiors, landscape architecture, signage and graphics.
For the Wine Institute Research Center, WDG developed several attractions and exhibition areas, food and beverage and retail facilities throughout the 19-story office tower and tour center. Elements included a visitor welcome center, children’s club, adventure play zone, Changyu history museum, Retail Shop and Food Court, 17th floor Sky Bistro, 18th floor Observation Deck with exhibits. WDG’s scope was concept through schematic design, overall facility planning, interiors, exhibition design, signage and graphics.
